Pom Pom is a character in the Homestar Runner animated cartoon series. He looks much like a big orange-and-yellow ball, with a minimalist, oval head, and speaks in an unintelligble series of bubbling sounds. He is Homestar Runner's best friend, although he associates with Strong Bad as well.

An older cartoon states that Pom Pom comes from a land called the Isle of Pom, where he has 27 girlfriends and a dog named Trivia Time, but none of this is referred to in any of the modern cartoons. Pom Pom is one of the oldest characters in the Homestar Runner world, dating back to the original Homestar Runner children's book.

While Pom Pom is for all intents a giant blob (he carries his cell phone and "PomPilot" by letting them sink into his body), he posseses great strength and agility. During the course of one Strong Bad email, Pom Pom delivered a severe pumelling to Strong Bad.

The Brothers Chaps revealed in an interview that Pom Pom's voice acting is done with a single recording of the bubble noises. When doing Pom Pom's voice, so to speak (no pun intended), TBC simply use snippets of the bubble noises.

Alternate versions

1936 – Fat Dudley

Fat Dudley resembles his modern version, although he has hands and wears conventional clothing. Dudley appears to be The Homestar Runner's best friend, just as Pom Pom is in the present. Unlike Pom Pom's "bubble talk", he talks in musical tunes.

20x6 – Pan Pan

Pom Pom appears in the anime-style future as Pan Pan, a large round panda. Like the other versions of Pom Pom, Pan Pan makes unintelligble noises instead of speaking.
