Poemas de un portero

Book of Poetry by Alejandro Carrión. Poemas de un portero was written when the author was a schoolboy (circa 1930) but was not published until 1983, several poems were lost(1). Its naiveté is, perhaps, its only merit: for Alberto Baeza Flores, “there is in his innocence qualities that I never suspected”. In 1933 the Poem "Poema del canto viajero" was awarded the first prize of his high school’s poetry competition. The importance of this first effort was summed up by the author with this question: "Who has sufficient courage to throw out of his life the memory of his adolescence?(2)"
