Phil Collen

Phil Collen is one of the guitarists for Def Leppard. He joined the band in 1983 following the firing of Pete Willis.

Philip Kenneth Collen was born in Hackney, East London, England. And because of this region, he speaks with a Cockney accent. Phil is an exceptional song-writer and an outstanding guitarist. In his career, he has affiliated himself with such bands as Lucy, Tush, Dumb Blondes, Girl and Cybernauts. Def Leppard, however, was his future, and he has remained with them for a long time now. His closest friend in Leppard was the late Steve Clark, a fellow guitarist that lost his battle with diposmania. Together, they eanrned the title of the Terror Twins. After Steve's tragic death, Collen became a teetotaler. Eventually, Phil married Jacqueline and the two had a son named Rory James Collen. Unfortunately, the union ended in divorce, and in time, Phil married Anita Thomas. Recently, Phil organized a band of his own called Man-Raze, comprised of former Girl bandmate, Simon Laffy, and the drummer from the Sex Pistols, Paul Cook. In closing, Phil Collen is known for being very kind to his fans, being a vegetarian, and for performing typically shirtless.
