Pete Sandoval

Pete Sandoval is a noted drummer in the extreme metal world. He is known for his blinding double bass drum speed and technical proficiency. His first important band was the grindcore band Terrorizer, formed in mid 1980s, where he began to demonstrate some of his speed – although he only played a single bass drum on that album.

Pete was invited to join the death metal band Morbid Angel, after which Terrorizer broke up. Therefore, he quickly had to learn to play double bass drum. He is still known as one of the fastest drummers in metal, though some say he has slowed down since his peak with Morbid Angel. He is one of the few drummers that plays a blast beat with the two kick – one snare pattern.
