Pemba, Mozambique
Pemba is a port city of Mozambique. It is the capital of the province of Cabo Delgado in Mozambique.
Its inhabitants are Makondes and Macuas.
During the Portugese reign the city was was baptized Oporto Amelia, in homage to one of the last queens of Portugal. The city is renowned for its Portugese colonial architecture.
Oporto Amelia was administratively renamed Pemba at the end of the Portuguese reign in 1975.
