Pelham Bay, Bronx, New York

Pelham Bay is a neighborhood in the Bronx, in New York City. It is adjacent to the largest park in New York City, Pelham Bay Park.

Pelham Bay is a markedly Italian American neighborhood, bounded by Pelham Parkway to the north, the New England Thruway to the east, Dudley Avenue to the south (where it meets the Throgs Neck neighborhood), and the Hutchinson River Parkway to the west. While Arthur Avenue/Belmont is the Bronx's main commercial hub of Italian culture, Pelham Bay is also an entire community as well. Pelham Bay is somewhat similar to the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn.

A variety of stores and eateries line the streets of this neighborhood, including Crosby Avenue, Westchester Avenue, Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road. Pelham Bay Park is the last stop on the 6 train of the New York City subway system. The neighborhood has two other stops as well.
