Pekahiah
Pekahiah ("the Lord opened his eyes") was king of Israel and the son of Menahem. Albright has dated his reign to 738 – 737 BC, while Thiele offers the dates 742 – 740 BC.
He was murdered in the royal palace at Samaria by Pekah, one of the captains of his army (2 Kings 15:23–26), after a reign of two years.
