From the Digimon 02 serires, he is St. Beast Digimon who is the result of when Patamon uses the Digimental of Hope. Called Pegasusmon in the english dub.

Patamon first became Pegasusmon on the day of the Digimental of Hope was found, when he, Takeru, Hikari, & Gatomon ended up in a cave after ecaping some Black-Ringed Tyrannomon. Takeru managed to obtain the Digimental & evoked its power, allowing Patamon to Armour Digivolve into Pegasusmon. Since then, Pegasusmon was a valuable fighter during the Digimon Emperor's reign of terror.
But once Ken renounced his evil persona, Pegasusmon was no longer needed & appeared only in terms of transporation. But during the battle with MaloMyotismon, Pegasusmon was manifested as a result of Takeru's dream for justice.
