Paynesville, Victoria
Paynesville is a tourist resort town in eastern Victoria, Australia about 300 km from Melbourne. Often called the boating capital of the Victoria.
It is located on the eastern end of Lake Victoria, near Lake King, two of the larger Gippsland Lakes and is a good launching point for exploring the lakes.
Other tourist attractions in the area include:
- Raymond Island – well known locally for its large koala population.
- Ninety Mile Beach – accessable by boat from the town.
The nearest towns include: Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance.
