Paul Gilbert

Paul Gilbert (November 6, 1966) was the former guitarist for the band Mr. Big. After the band was disbanded in 1996, Gilbert persued his career as a solo guitarist and has evolved into a successful solo artist/singer/songwriter. He was also the lead guitarist of the re-united 1980s hard-rock band Racer X.

Born in Carbondale, Illinois, he started playing guitar at the age of 5 and at the age of 15 was not only touring local clubs with his band Tau Zero but was even spotlighted in Guitar Player magazine alongside fellow up-and-comer Yngwie Malmsteen.

His songs range from pop, rock, metal, jazz, classical and anything in between, and is often quoted as an extremely versatile guitarist. As a recognition of his speed, he was listed in the "Top 10 Shredders Of All Time" by Guitar One Magazine.

Paul Gilbert is often considered the best guitarist of all time.
