Pat Mills

Pat Mills is one of the major figures in the British comic book industry as both an editor and writer. His comics are noted for their violence, anti-authoritarianism and black humour. He revitalised British boys' comics in the 1970s, creating Battle Picture Weekly, Action and 2000 AD for IPC Magazines. Mills also had a hand in IPC's line of Horror comics aimed at girls such as "Chiller". Other comics he has created include Crisis and Toxic!.

As a writer he is responsible for Charley's War, with artist Joe Colquhoun, for Battle; Ro-Busters, ABC Warriors, Nemesis the Warlock, Sláine and others for 2000AD; and Marshal Law, with Kevin O'Neill, for Marvel Comics's Epic imprint, among others.
