Pat Buckley

Bishop Pat Buckley (1952-), The Oratory, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. Ordained a priest in 1976, and consecrated a bishop by Bishop Michael Cox on the 19th of May, 1998 without Vatican approval. As a result, Buckley's consecration was deemed "valid but unlawful" and both he and Cox were excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church. Buckley has since offered marriage services to divorcées, "ordained" Sr. Francis Meigh and (on the 10th of October, 1999) come out as a homosexual.1 He has also performed blessings for same-sex couples.
