Papa Bear (Sesame Street)

Papa Bear is a character in the Bear family on Sesame Street. He generally wears a bowler derby.

Unlike The Three Bears in the classic fairy tale, Sesame Street's Four Bears are certainly sentient characters, and do not regularly appear together. Before Curly Bear's season 34 birth, Papa Bear was the second most frequently appearing member of the Bear family, but that position has since been taken over by Curly. Papa never appears in an episode without Baby Bear.

In Elmo's World: Happy Holidays, it was revealed that the Bear family was Jewish.
