Paola, Malta
Paola, (or old name Pawla), is a town in the south of Malta. It is named after its founder, the Grandmaster Antoine de Paule, but is commonly known as Raħal Ġdid, which means new town in Maltese.
Paola is renowned for its Good Friday procession and its football club, Hibernians F.C.
The local church is dedicated to Christ the King and the feast is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of July.
The village is a commercial centre in the south of Malta.
