Pao Fa Temple
Pao Fa Temple is a large Buddhist temple and monastery in the upscale suburb of Irvine, California. It is possibly the second largest temple, after Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, California. However, Pao Fa Temple is unrelated to Hsi Lai Temple. Pao Fa Temple attempts to be apolitical. It mainly attracts Chinese American and Vietnamese American Buddhists.
The Taiwanese-born Venerable Master Jen-Yi presides over the Pao Fa Temple. At a cost of $5 million, the temple was built on a former site of a Pacific Bell building and it was opened in late 2002.
