Pak Gil Yon

Pak Gil Yon is the ambassador to the United Nations of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, more commonly known as North Korea. His rhetoric is similar to that of Kim Jong Il, his de facto employer, including calls to prevent Japan from obtaining a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council.

North Korea, often called the “Hermit Kingdom”, has traditionally avoided diplomatic contact with nations other than the People's Republic of China. Its delegation to the United Nations is an unusal break from this policy.
