Paiania, also, rarely, Paeania or Peania (Greek: Παιανία), is a town in Greece east of the Hymettus and Athens and is a suburb of Athens. Its population is about 11,000. Until the late 20th century, the area was known as Liopessi. Half ot the municipality and the western part is the rocky landscape of mount Hymettus.

Paiania has schools, a lyceum, a gymnasium, banks, a post office and squares (plateies).

Agriculture was probably the dominant industry from the 5th century until the 20th century. Currently, the largest facility is a Greek television broadcasting building privately owned by Teletypos or Telepress and sometimes Buena Vista is Mega Channel which is located in the east. It is connected with GR-91, Attiki Odos (GR-91), Spata, and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport.
