Other Worlds (magazine)
Other Worlds was the popular title of a minor science fiction magazine, edited by Raymond A. Palmer and published between 1949 and 1957.
Until 1957 the magazine's full name was Other Worlds Science Stories.
In 1957, Ray Palmer created a new magazine, Flying Saucers From Other Worlds (later retitled Flying Saucers) and stopped publication of the old. This is often mistakenly taken as a continuation of the old magazine, and this confusion was deliberately created by Palmer so that sales outlets would not have to be persuaded to take a new magazine. In fact the magazines overlapped for two issues with ambiguous titles.
Between 1988 and 1996, six issues appeared of a magazine also called Other Worlds, edited by Gary Lovisi and published by Gryphon Publications. The published editorial criteria were for "short, hard SF shockers, with impact" up to 3000 words.
