Oscar C. Badger

Oscar C. Badger (1823 – 1899) was a commodore in the United States Navy who served in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War.

Born in Connecticut, Badger was appointed Midshipman in 1841. He took an active part in the Mexican and Civil Wars and was frequently, commended in the dispatches.

Commodore Badger retired in August 1885 and died in 1899.

Two ships, USS Badger, were named for him.
