Orodes III of Parthia

King Orodes III of Parthia was raised to the throne of the Parthian Empire by the magnates after the death of Phraates V, c. AD 6. He was killed after a short reign "on account of his extreme cruelty" (Josephus). After his death, Phraates' brother Vonones I tried to assume the thone, but a civil war with Artabanus II followed.
