Orca Class patrol vessels

The Orca Class patrol vessels are new training and patrol vessels being built for the Canadian Forces Maritime Command. A $70 million CAD contract for 6 vessels was awarded in early November 2004 to Washington Marine Group.

At 20 knots, these vessels will be 5 knots faster than the Kingston Class multi-use patrol vessels, but they would still be almost 10 knots slower than the similar sized US Coast Guard Island Class cutter.
