Oommen Chandy

Oommen Chandy is the 19th Chief Minister of Kerala, India. He was born at Kumarakom in Kottayam on October 31, 1943. He lives at Puthupally about 5 km from Kottayam.

He has represented Puthupally Constituency for more than 30 years. He was a Minister for two terms before becoming the Chief Minister. He Represents the United Democratic Front(UDF)

Famous on the congress circle as a perfect organizer and fund raiser, the "kunjoonj" of puthupally has a good hold on the (A) fraction of the party and a perfect relation with the allies. A land where churches are actively involved in politics, he has the support of the big shots as well as the common man on that front .
