Oliver Beene

Oliver Beene is the central character in the short-lived sitcom of the same name. Set in 1962, the show chronicled the trials and tribulations of 11-year-old Oliver, in first person perspective. It aired in March 2003, and was cancelled in October of the same year.

Oliver, played by Grant Rosenmeyer, attempts to sustain normality in an often unpredictable family. Oliver's father, Jerry (Grant Shaud) spends his days drilling teeth as a dentist, while his mother, (Wendy Makkena) attempts to play the traditional homemaker. Oliver's brother, Ted (Andrew Lawrence) is a sports nut and a womaniser. Oliver's life is often made more bearable with friends Neal (Ben Bookbinder), Michael (Taylor Emerson) and Joyce (Daveigh Chase). The narrator, an older Oliver reflecting on his experiences (a la The Wonder Years), is voiced by David Cross.
