Nose Railway

(Redirected from Nose Electric Railway)

Nose Railway (能勢電 noseden, Corporate name: Nose Electric Railway Co., Ltd., 能勢電鉄株式会社) is a Japanese private railway which links several areas in the mountainous Nose, Osaka area to Kawanishi-Noseguchi Station in Ikeda, Osaka where one can transfer to Hankyu Railway to complete a trip into Osaka.

Nose Railway uses the same type of trademark maroon train as Hankyu Railway, and hence runs on the same 1500 V and standard gauge rail.

The Nose Railway consists of one line with a one-station branch to Nissei-Chuo.

There are three types of train:

  • Locals serve the Myoken-(main)-Line through to Kawanishi-Noseguchi Station as well as shuttle and direct service to Nissei-Chuo Station.
  • Expresses skip the first half of the line and continue to either terminal. Express Stations are marked with a (x).
  • Nissei-Express trains give a limited express service on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line from Umeda Station, then switch to the Nose line and run as expresses to Nissei-Chuo Station; these only run at commuting times, and use a separate platform (number 6) at Umeda.
