Norea

Norea is a figure in gnostic cosmology. Sometimes she is said to be the syzygy of Adam, or wife of Noah, and daughter of Eve. Norea is percieved within gnostic thought as Sophia after her fall from grace.

In gnostic thought, the old testament god is evil (Yaltabaoth), and the world is a trap, so Norea persuades Noah to ultimately disobey the god, and burn the ark. Understandably, the god is angry at this, and sends angels to rape her, but a higher more ultimate god sends an angel (Sagicity) to protect her, and teach her gnosis.

She appears in the texts such as the Apocryphon of John and the Thought of Norea.
