Nordic TransFans Association
The Nordic TransFans Association (NTFA for short) is a fan club for the Transformers toys and mythos.
The club is informal and not officially supported or sponsored by Hasbro. However, the club has worked in coordination with Hasbro Nordic, by holding competitions with Hasbro Nordic supplying the prizes.
NTFA is open to anyone and is free of charge. It is mainly intended for people living in the Nordic countries but there's no law set in stone forbidding people from other countries by joining.
NTFA was founded by Lars Eriksson from Sweden in 1997, originally as a mailing list among Nordic Transformers fans he had already met on the Internet. The mailing list expanded and was later replaced by a web page with a web-based discussion forum.
The NTFA forums currently have almost 300 members. By far the most of these are Swedes, but Finns and Norwegians are also a prominent part. There are also a couple of Danes, and even one person from Iceland once joined, but she hasn't been to the forums for over a year. Non-Nordic members are mainly Brits and Americans.
