Nolina

Nolina is a genus of plants in the agave family Agavaceae. It constitutes a group of tropical xerophytic plants, with the principal distribution being in Mexico and extending into the southern United States.

Some of its members are cultivated as ornamentals. The most commonly seen member is Nolina recurvata, often called the ponytail palm in English (though like the rest of this family, it is not a true palm). This is often grown as a house plant in temperate latitudes.
