Node (networking)

A node is a device that is connected as part of a computer network. Nodes can be computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), cell phones, or various other network appliances.

On an IP (Internet Protocol) network, a node is any device with an IP address.

Nodes are often times connected by hubs, routers, or by a network switch.
