The nix.co.il domain is registered by Yury Michurin, and is mainly used for the NiX IRC Network and it's website. You may find links like http://nix.co.il/a, they are infact short urls that redirect to longer urls. You are most likely to find them on the IRC where X the bot will generate them from RSS news and links people put in the channels.

NiX IRC Network

What started as a refuge to the Chats (formally m0sad) IRC Network has developed into a nice, friendly and stable home for many users. The biggest draw point of this network are the many features and irc-to-website integrations.

The website has a quote database (like bash.org) called Quix but unlike bash this database is instant (does not need approval) and is only avaliable for registered irc users of NiX.
Also any channel on the network can setup a live log, which can be read from the website. Additional security restrictions can also be added.
All live logged channels also get pisg stats.
The website also has CGI:IRC WebChat running to provide IRC access to nearly any HTTP client.
