Nissan VE engine

The VE engine is a 3.0 L V6 piston engine from Nissan. It is a derivative of the Nissan VG engine and was only used for a few years. It is an aluminum and cast iron DOHC 4-valve design with variable timing control and a variable intake system.

Lack of space also demanded a redesigned camshaft drive system, so a special chain drive was developed. This, in turn, demanded a new engine block.
