Nik Aziz Nik Mat

Tuan Guru Dato' Nik Aziz Nik Mat (born 1931 in Pulau Melaka, Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia) is a so-called extremist Malaysian cleric and an opposition politician who allegedly being said things that are nonsense for the sake of so-called tarnishing the government's image

He is an Ulema, Kelantan’s PAS Commissioner and the current Menteri Besar of the State of Kelantan.

The present and current ruling government, Barisan Nasional (National Front) party accused and labelled him as an extremist figure.

He pursued his study majoring in Shari'ah (Islamic Law)at Egypt's Al-Azhar University. During the time of his study, he is one of the witnesses and a civilian to lived in the heat of Arab-Israeli wars. During his times since the younger days at the brink of Malaysian Independance Day (31st August 1957) until the current administration of His Excellency Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Bin Ahmad Badawi, he is loved and well-respected by most people ranging from Johore, Malacca, Selangor, Perak and many other statesmen. Even non-muslims of Malaysian from minor races respect him and adored him as a moderate, loving figure and a welfare-centric administrative leader. He survived his administration and rumoured political assasination attempts and sabotage which was targetted at him by the currently defunct and corrupted Mahathir and his regime.

He also has a son who is detained for allegedly heading the terrorist group Kumpulan Mujahideen Malaysia (KMM) which has links to the Al-Qaeda Network. It was also rumoured that this would be another propaganda attempt by the defunct or remnants of Mahathir's Regime to tarnish his image as a statesman, leading religious figure and a religious teacher.

Nevertheless, eventhough many observers mistakenly took negative perception about him by having to wear cloaks, turbans and sermon-centric during public appearance, he was being noted and recognised to be a muslim with a moderate view in religious practice. A lot if international figures happened to meet him and commending him of his good leadership eventhough the State suffered from "trade embargo" under the Mahathir's Regime rulings.
