Nigerian writers
Nigeria has produced some of the most prolific writers in all aspects of human endeavors and knowledge. Many Nigerian writers have won many accolades for their writing abilities with the field of journalism inclusive. Some of the best known "Elder statesmen" of the world of the wordsmith are Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Cyprian Ekwensi, ChukwuEmeka Ike and Elechi Amadi to mention a few. The older female writers like Buchi Emecheta and Wunmi Sofola cannot be forgotten. Recently the newer generation writers like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Helon Habila, and Francis Okechukwu Ohanyido, have been carving niches for themselves with their remarkable writings and philosophy touching all the genres of literature.
