Nick Hurd

The Honourable Nicholas Hurd (1962— ) is a United Kingdom Conservative Party Member of Parliament. He was elected Member of Parliament for Ruislip-Northwood at the May 2005 general election with 47.7% of the vote.

Hurd is the son of the former Conservative Member of Parliament and Foreign Secretary, Douglas Hurd. He is the fourth generation of his family to enter the House of Commons as a Conservative MP as he follows his father, grandfather and great-grandfather into Parliament. After graduating from Oxford University, he ran his own business and represented a British bank in Brazil. In 2002 he set up the Small Business Network to advise the Conservative Party on business policy. More recently, he has worked as Chief of Staff to Tim Yeo MP.

Hurd married Kim in 1988; they have two sons and two daughters.
