Ni Amorim

Ni Amorim is a race car driver born in Porto, Portugal on the 1st of March 1962. He started competing in circuit racing and rallying in 1982, but in the mid-80s it became clear it was in the race tracks he felt most at ease, becoming a mainstay in various one-make cups and the Portuguese Touring Car Championship, which he won in 1989, 1990 and 1993, driving the Poligrupo Ford Sierra RS500 and the works Opel Astra (this one in the Supertouring regulations).

In 1995 he began an international career, first in the International Touring Car Championship and in the following year in the Spanish Touring Car Championship. In 1997 he lost Opel backing and moved to endurance racing, competing on-and-off in the FIA GT Championship and the American Le Mans Series, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, having even driven for the Oreca-run works Chrysler team, with the Dodge Viper GTS-R and the Chrysler Mopar LMP. He also driven in the Spanish and British GT series. For 2005, he moved to the [[Le Mans Endurance Series, where he is driving a Courage C65.
