Neal S. Dow
Neal S. Dow (1804-1897) was a prohibitionist mayor of Portland, Maine. He was known as the "Father of Prohibition." He sponsored the "Maine law of 1851", which prohibited the manufacture and sale of liquor. He was later the Prohibition party's candidate for President in the electon of 1880.
