Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer

The Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer (NPOI) is an interferometer operated by the US Naval Observatory, the Naval Research Laboratory and The Lowell Observatory. To date it has produced the highest resolution optical images of any astronomical instrument (this is likely to change when the CHARA array and Magdelena Ridge Observatory Interferometer begin operations).
