Nassau Community College

Nassau Community College is located in Garden City in Nassau County on Long Island. Nassau Community College is the largest two-year college in New York, with 20,000 students, and offers a large variety of programs.

It was created as part of the State University of New York (SUNY) in 1959. When the College first opened on February 1, 1960, it had 632 students. Nassau Community College annually awards the largest number of Associate degrees in the State of New York and the third largest number of Associate degrees for two-year public colleges in the United States. Strongest programs and the Math, Physics, chemistry, and Engineering. College is seen by many as the elite public two year college in America and was recently tied for first place in a national survey of two year colleges. Alumni often transfer to colleges such as Cornell, SUNY Stony Brook, Syracuse Univ among many other fine schools
