Nana Plaza

(Redirected from Nana plaza)

Nana Plaza is a red-light district in Bangkok Thailand. It lies on Sukhumvit soi 4 across from the Nana hotel. Together with Soi Cowboy and Patpong it comprises the red-light districts where mainly westerners hang out. However, since the beginning of the 21st century more Japanese men have found their way there because of the high prices in the Japanese clubs in Bangkok.

The Plaza is in the shape of a square and has a ground floor and three additional floors. The Plaza originally started out as an area with restaurants in the 1970s and 1980s. During the eighties go-go bars started to appear and slowly took over the restaurants. At present (2004), Nana Plaza only consists of go-go bars and one pub, the Woodstock Pub.

Most women working at bars in Nana Plaza are available to leave the bar with customers upon payment of a bar fine. Some bars in Nana Plaza employ ladyboys instead of natal women. As of 2004 these are Obsession (on the ground floor), Casanova (on the second floor) and Cascade (on the top floor).

Nana Plaza is within walking distance from the SkyTrain's "Nana Station".
