Names Database
The Names Database is an online project whose goal is to interconnect everybody through the internet voluntarily. It allows one to easily get information on another person quickly. The database is the cause of controversy as of late as some people consider it negative. There is also a potential danger of the creation of a "Big Brother" type figure due to the success of this database. The most outspoken critics of this database are New World Order conspiracy theorists. Another problem is increased exposure to spyware.
The names database has several operating methods. The primary method is immediately plugging names into search engines constantly and reporting on them. The secondary method is getting people to voluntarily submit their names into the names database. The tertiary method would be caused by forcing people to tell other people in order to have access to the database.
As of May, 2005 the database contains significant information on over 50 million people with over 13 million members. These range from world leaders to high school students.
