Nahaleen, Palestine

Nahaleen is a small village to the south west of Bethlehem in occupied Palestine. The population of the village is almost 6000. The word Nahaleen is Arabic and refers to those who collect honey from bees.

Mustafa Safi, a graduate of the American University of Beirut, has much credit for the advancement of Nahaleen. He has helped bring water and electricity to the village in the seventies, while many other villages in Palestine still lacked these services. He also established a bus company that linked the village to major cities.
