Naberezhnye Chelny
Naberezhnye Chelny (Tatar: Yar Çallı; Russian: На́бережные Челны́, literally Riverbank Boats) is the second largest city in Tatarstan, Russia.
Population 510,000 in 2002.
A major industrial center, Naberezhnye Chelny stands on the Kama River some 225 km east of Kazan, at 55°41′ N 52°19′ E It became a town in 1931 and was called Brezhnev from 1982 to 1988.
