Nabedrennik

A Nabedrennik (Russian: набедренник) is a vestment worn by some Orthodox priests. It is a square or rectangular cloth suspended on the right side from a strap (attached to two adjacent corners) drawn over the left shoulder. A relatively recent Russian invention, the Nabedrennik is only worn by some priests in the Russian tradition as an award; it is never worn by bishops or by priests in the Greek tradition.
