NBA Most Valuable Player Award
The National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player Award was first awarded after the 1955–56 NBA season. The NBA MVP trophy is named in honor of the late Maurice Podoloff, the first president of the NBA who served from 1946 until his retirement in 1963.
