Muro de Alcoy

Muro de Alcoy or Muro d'Alcoi (in Catalan), also known as Muro del Comtat or simply Muro, is a town located in the comarca of El Comtat, in the province of Alicante, Spain, lying at the foot of the Sierra de Mariola. Muro de Alcoy has an area of 30.5 km² and, according to the 2002 census, a total population of 7,532 inhabitants. The economy of Muro de Alcoy is based on textile industry, manufacture of plastic products and furniture and agriculture (olives and almonds).
