Moxley
Moxley is a village in the town of Darlaston, England. It was first developed during the early part of the 19th century when a handful of terraced houses were built to accommodate locals working in factories and mines.
Most of the homes in Moxley were built by Darlaston Urban District Council between 1920 and 1960. They were built as a replacement for many of the area's decaying Victorian terraces but many of these new council homes ended up just as problematic. One estate in Moxley was recently demolished because the houses there had been so severely affected by subsidence due to mining. In 1999, a house in Moxley collapsed down a mineshaft and the two adjoining houses also had to be demolished. An estate in another part of Moxley is also in the process of redevelopment because the homes are subsided and too dangerous to live in.
