Mostek

Mostek was founded in 1969 by ex-employees of Texas Instruments. Mostek made logic, memory, and microprocessor chips. Mostek's microprocessors were second source versions of the Fairchild F8 3850 + 3851 (the Mostek 3870), the Zilog Z80, the Zilog Z8 and the Motorola 68000. Mostek also produced Z80 support chips. Mostek developed the world's first single-chip calculator circuit- MK6010, In 1970. The Mostek MK3870 was one-chip version of the Fairchild F8. And Fairchild becomes second source of the MK3870.

Mostek was bought in 1980 by United Technologies Corporation, who sold it again to SGS-ATES in 1981.

Mostek is not the same company as MOS Technology.
