Moshzilla

Moshzilla.

Moshzilla is a popular internet meme, internet phenomenon and Photoshop icon, which was started on the Bridge9.com forums in mid January 2005 after a picture taken by Alex Stram on January 3rd, 2005 at the Che Cafe in San Diego, CA. The picture was originally posted in Alex's Image Galley, with no watermarks. The picture is believed to then spread to the Bridge Nine Records forums and notPopular.com after being linked to in a friend's LiveJournal. That LiveJournal post can be found here.

The Term "Moshzilla", was coined by Josh Highland when he launched the official site moshzilla.com. Moshzilla attracted a lot of attention to various other Photoshopping outlets, including but not limited to Something Awful and 4chan. Shortly after the picture began circulating, and she became aware of her popularity, she was interviewed on the moshzilla website (see link below). Her family has since threatened legal action regarding most of the pictures, and the moshzilla site is now closed.

Despite the possibility of a looming lawsuit, her 15 minutes of fame continues.
