Molly Bloom
Molly Bloom is a fictional character in the novel Ulysses by James Joyce. She roughly corresponds to the character of Penelope in the Odyssey. The major difference between Molly and Peneolope is that Penelope is eternally faithful, while Molly is anything but faithful. Joyce developed the figure of Molly Bloom after Nora Barnacle's personality, who was his wife. In fact the novel itself tells the story of one day in Leopold Bloom's life, and the day Joyce chose is exactly the day when he had his first date with Miss Barnacle, on the 16th of June 1904, which is also famous with the name of Bloomsday.
