Mohammed Ben Aarafa
Mohammed Ben Aarafa, (or Ben Arafa) a distant relative of Sultan Mohammed V of Morocco, was put in Mohammed V's place by the French after they exiled Mohammed V.
Ben Aarafa was installed in August 1953, he abdicated in October 1955, while Mohammed V was still in exile.
Protests against Ben Aarafa helped lead to Moroccian independence, which was agreed to between France and Mohammed V in 1955.
