Mohammad Ashraful

Mohammad Ashraful (b. September 9 1984 in Dhaka) is a Bangladeshi cricketer.

Ashraful is the youngest batsman to make a Test century on debut. He was a day younger than 17 years when he scored 114 against Sri Lanka on September 8, 2001.

Ashraful is regarded as a precociously talented batsman capable of playing all kinds of shots in the book. But he has thrown away his wickets from impregnable positions many times in his career, an ungainly trend often attributed to his youthful impetuousity.

He seemed to have come of age in December 2004, when he scored his second century – a mammoth 158 not out – against the touring Indian cricket team, and as a result now holds the record for the highest individual test score by any Bangladeshi.
